“Listening for the Heartbeat of God”

For six Wednesdays, join us for a study of Celtic Christian Spirituality thru the writings of John Philip Newell.

It seems fitting in an area where Celtic roots run deep that we may resonate with the ancient Christian traditions of Ireland and Scotland. This part of the Western Christian World survived both the Roman cultural invasion and the Protestant doctrinal extremes to nurture a deep understanding of our faith that knew everything and everyone is sacred and can be known in the “thin places” of understanding and compassion.

If you sense this truth in your soul, if you are a “longer” to see the gifts of these teachings continue to grow in our church or are intrigued by history and theology, this book will resonate within you. The author’s stories, images, and questions will offer us a launching pad to share our own journey.

You do not have to buy the book to enjoy the class, but you may want to read the sections we do not cover.

This study group will be facilitated by Jayne Hubbard, Gregg Carlson, and Carol Penhollow.

We are meeting onsite in the Parlor and also streaming via Zoom (click here for Zoom).
